How to Play

1.Visit any of the thousands of New York Lottery retailers throughout New York State. Pick up a Mega Millions playcard with 5 game panels.

2.When filling out a playcard, use a blue or black pen or pencil, fill in your choice of five numbers from 1 to 52 in the upper (shaded) section and select one MEGA BALL number from 1 to 52 in lower (white) section for each game you want to play. Or save time by choosing Quick Pick and letting the computer randomly select numbers for you. If you do not choose a jackpot prize payment option, the terminal will automatically select the lump sum cash value.

3.Do not erase. If you make a mistake, mark the VOID box for that game and move to the next game.

4.In the Jackpot Prize Payment Option box on front of the playcard, mark how you want to be paid should you win the jackpot prize. Choose the "26 Annual Payments" box if you wish to receive your prize in 26 annual payments. Choose the "Lump Sum Cash Value" box if you wish to receive the prize in a lump sum cash payment. Note: Jackpot winners who select cash value option will receive the estimated present cash value of the advertised amount. This amount will be less than the advertised jackpot. Players must indicate at the time of purchase which Jackpot Prize Payment Option they desire.

5.You can play the same numbers for more than one draw. Use the MULTI DRAWS column to select up to 26 consecutive draws.

6.Turn in your playcard to the retailer, and receive a separate ticket for each playcard processed.

7.Check your ticket(s) before leaving the retailer location to verify that the numbers and the date printed are correct. Mega Millions tickets cannot be cancelled.

WHEN TO PLAY

You can try your luck seven days a week, 5:30 a.m. until terminal close at 12:15 a.m. or 10:45 p.m. on draw nights when the game closes. To avoid last minute lines, play early. The two live drawings each week are Tuesday and Friday during the 11 p.m. news.

PLAY IN ADVANCE!

Now you can play your same Mega Millions numbers for up to 13 weeks in advance! With the MULTI DRAWS option on the playcard, you have the ability to play your same numbers for up to 26 consecutive draws. Use this area on the playcard to select 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, or 26 consecutive draws. For a number between 1 and 26 not listed, you cannot use a playcard. Ask your retailer to use the Quick Pick option or have your numbers entered manually into the Lottery terminal.
